HMS Queen Elizabeth maiden voyage

I took a quick drive up to Rosyth after work today to have a look at the new aircraft carrier that will be heading out to start its sea trials tonight. 8 years in the making and £3bn it’s a massive ship. I had hoped to try to get a few shots as it made its way under the Forth Road Bridge but the police had closed it to foot traffic and they’re waiting until low tide so it will actually fit under the bridge. Given it’s size and the very small margin of error that they’ll have when piloting it out to sea (approx 50cm between the bottom of the ship and the sea bed) it’s estimated that it will take 10 hours for it to complete this maneuver at 3-4 knots.
